IJC Glulam

IJC Glulam

IJC Glulams are beams manufactured to match the depths of SSI Joists used in Multi-Family applications. Depths of 9 1/2", 11 7/8", 14", 16", 18" and 20" are available from Standard Structures, Inc.

The IJC Glulams allow ceilings to be flush framed, eliminating the need for extra furring out. IJC Glulams come in standard widths of 3 1/8", 5 1/8" and 6 3/4". IJC Glulam widths of 3 1/2" and 5 1/2" are also available if a flush fit within a 2x4 or 2x6 wall is required.

The moisture content of the wall material should be considered when specifying a 3 1/2" and 5 1/2" width. IJC Glulams have an average maximum moisture content of 14% and thus are dimensionally stable. IJC Glulams are not intended for exposed-to-view applications.

Performance Features

  • Available in depths that match Multi-Family SSI Joists
  • Dimensionally stable
  • More economical than other Engineered Wood Beams
  • Glulams with architectural appearance classifications are available for use in exposed conditions where the classic beauty of "natural wood" is desired
